STUDY FRENCH IN STRASBOURG, EUROPEAN CAPITAL OF CULTURE
The city
Strasbourg is located in Alsace, in eastern France, close to Germany, Switzerland and Luxembourg, having a very privileged location.
Strasbourg is one of the finest European capitals, full of history and bursting with youth and vitality. As a university and international town, a town of culture and also a commercial centre, Strasbourg boasts an excellent transport network making it possible to reach the main European cities such as Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam, Prague, Brussels, Luxembourg and Geneva, etc., in just a few hours!
Strasbourg offers nothing but advantages. A modern medium-sized city, highly active at a cultural level and located in the heart of Europe, where it is very easy to adapt and to fit in. With the town and the region known for their gastronomy and their many restaurants, cafes and baker's shops, there is no better place to enjoy the Alsatian lifestyle.

The school
This school has been getting foreign students since 1976 and is a member of SOUFFLE, a professional group of schools teaching French as a foreign language. It also has the certification of quality FLE.

In 1999 it moved to the CCI training division, the new training centre of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
This spacious and comfortable complex is located 9 minutes by tram from the historical town centre of the town and 20 minutes from the airport.
The school has 40 classrooms in a total surface area of 3360 m2 spread across two buildings linked by a central footbridge and
a 260-seating amphitheatre with central square making it possible to host symposiums, conferences and temporary exhibitions.
There are also 7 computer rooms with a network of 102 computers, 2 language laboratories, a multimedia room and a multimedia area where students can work semi-autonomously, a resource centre (library, information centre, internet,...), a coffee shop seating around 60 people, a restaurant area and an outdoor terrace.

The classes
They are orientated to
improve your communication skills with focus on the spoken language.
You can make rapid progress thanks to role-playing and games, structured conversations, and also due to attractive and user-friendly methods for acquiring grammar.
There are different types of courses:
- Daytime classes: The start of the courses is every two weeks from September to June and with all levels. Up to 12 students in a group. 15 hours a week from 9 a.m. to 12, Monday to Friday.
- Evening classes: From elementary to advanced level. 12 people maximum per group. 51-hour syllabus for three months. Hours: from 6:30pm to 8:30pm twice a week and 5 Saturdays per three months from 9am to midday.
- Summer classes: Classes start every two weeks, from July to August. All levels. Groups of up to 15 students. 20 hours of class per week. Hours: 9 a.m. to 12, Monday to Friday and from 1:30 to 4.00 p.m., on Mondays and Wednesdays. Placement test on the first Monday of the course.
- Other courses: There are also private lessons, business and professional French, exams preparation, training for teachers and tailored programmes.

Accommodation
There are different possibilities for accommodation:
- Home stay: Host families are in the town or in the nearby suburbs accessible via the public transport system. These French people are very interested in meeting and exchanging with foreigners.
- Private residences: They provide some degree of independence while facilitate making contact with young Frenchs who live there. During the year is only for girls and in the summer is for everyone.
- University residence: Only in the summer (July and August). And you can live in a young environment with students of different nationalities.
- Studios and shared apartments: For stays of at least one month.
- Apartment hotels and hotels: for weeks or spare nights.

Social and cultural activities
In the afternoons there are free activities like multimedia lab, French films, French songs, etc.
During the year there will be periodical visits to the European institutions (The Council of Europe or the European Parliament) and local companies.
Other visits will be recommended to you and proposed all-year-round according to the season:
themed visits to the historical town centre during the summer organised by the Tourism Office,
day-long coach trips organised by a local coach company and free entertainment during the summer and Christmas.
