- Nature reserves: You can volunteer in national parks (Parks Canada) and other reserves like: Ontario Nature, Conservation Volunteers, Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society.
- Birds monitoring: There are opportunities in different places of Canada. Visit the following links: Environment Canada (Birders), Duck Unlimited Canada, Reifel Bird Sanctuary (Ladner, BC), Swan Lake (Victoria, BC) and other migratory birds sanctuaries.
- Birds banding: You can volunteer in several banding stations accross Canada in spring and autumn. To visit the website of all the stations: Bird Studies Canada. We recommend the following ones: Bruce Peninsula , Long Point, Thunder Cape, Lesser Slave Lake, McKenzie and Rocky Point.
- Wildlife Rescue Centres: If you are a biology or veterinary student or you are interested in learning about wildlife care in rehabilitation, you can volunteer or do an internship in one of the following centres in Canada:
● In Toronto: Toronto Wildlife Centre gives care to birds and mammals.
● Close to Vancouver: O.W.L. (in Delta) is only for raptors and owls and WRA (in Burnaby) is for birds and mammals.
● Vancouver Island and Gulf Islands: Wild ARC (in Victoria) for birds and mammals, and IWNCC (in Saltspring Island) for marine mammals.

- Aquariums: If you are interested in marine life, you can volunteer in one of the following aquariums: Aquarium du Quebec (in Quebec), MarineLand (in Niagara Falls), Vancouver Aquarium (in Vancouver) and Ucluelet Aquarium (in Vancouver Island).
- Wildlife parks: They are like zoos for Canadian wildlife only. We recomend the next ones: BC Wildlife Park (in Kamloops, BC), Ecomuseum (in Quebec) and Northern Lights Wolf Centre (Golden, BC).
- Environmental education and flora & fauna monitoring: Parks and environmental education centres in Vancouver and surrounding areas: Stanley Park Ecology Society, Envirothon, Richmond Nature Park, Lynn Canyon Ecology Centre, Burns Bog-Delta Nature Reserve.
- Botanical gardens: Learn about plants while you enjoy pleasant work. We recommend the next ones: VanDusen (Vancouver), Toronto Botanical Gardens and Tofino Botanical Gardens.
- Organic farms and ecovillages: You can learn about organic farming while you live in a nice place in the countryside. We recommend: Providence Farm, OUR Ecovillage and Ecoreality.
- Environmental organizations: Sierra Club Canada, Wilderness Commitee, Burns Bog Conservation Society and David Suzuki Foundation.
- Construction and restoration of mountain trails: FMCBC and Wilderness Committee.
