VOLUNTARY WORK IN UK

Practical work in nature reserves:
Different organisations offer conservation holidays and work camps, in England and Scotland, from 1 to 3 weeks duration.
If you want to spend a longer time in the UK doing this, you can combine work camps in different places.
The fee for a week depends on the organisation and the place and it is between 60 and 100 € and this includes accommodation and meals. Some of these organisations offer discounts to students and the unemployed.
For more information, you can visit the websites of the following organisations:
BTCV
Groundwork UK
National Trust
Thistle Camps
Trees for Life

Volunteering in nature reserves for the protection of birds:
You can stay as a residential volunteer in one of the reserves that belong to the main ornithologist organisation in the UK, the RSPB.
You can decide how long you want to stay and when you want to go, but some reserves want long term volunteers or they only have on going projects in specific seasons.
You get free accommodation but you are in charge of your own meals so it is up to you how much you spend (you do the shopping and cooking).
For more information, visit the website of RSPB
Social Volunteering:
Visit the websites of: Volunteering England and Volunteering Scotland.
We recommend you: Camphill Communities (communities where people with disabilities live with volunteers that are not only in the UK, but also in other countries of the world)
